About Me
Eugene Pace is a Toronto-based filmmaker and director whose work is deeply shaped by nearly a decade of grassroots community volunteering through the Junior Youth Empowerment Program since 2015. He began as a participant in local service projects alongside other young people, gradually taking on roles assisting in planning and leading initiatives aimed at strengthening neighbourhoods. These efforts included organizing community festivals that brought families together and creating spaces where youth could reflect on the needs of their community and execute service projects.
This experience profoundly informed Eugene’s view of film as a powerful medium to reflect on the nobility, resilience, and creativity of young people. He discovered his love for filmmaking by documenting these community moments on his phone, capturing stories that might otherwise go unheard.
Through years of creating short, documentary-style videos about youth-led initiatives and community projects, Eugene found both a creative voice and a sense of purpose, which led him to pursue and complete a BFA in Film Production at York University (Class of 2025).
Now, Eugene continues this community-focused vision through short-form documentary films that center personal storylines and authentic voices. He seeks out inspiring, human stories and partners with non-profits, community-driven organizations, and arts-focused brands to create story-driven content that strengthens brand identity through genuine, people-first storytelling.
